If You’re Farting More Than 25 Times A Day — What Your Body Might Be Trying To Tell You

Passing gas is something everyone experiences every day, and doctors say it is actually a normal sign that the digestive system is functioning properly. Most healthy people may fart anywhere between 10 and 25 times daily depending on diet, digestion, and gut bacteria balance.

Why do you fart so much? Why usuza too much 💨 Some farting ...

However, medical experts warn that when flatulence suddenly becomes excessive, unusually frequent, or starts happening together with symptoms like bloating, stomach pain, diarrhea, or constipation, it may be the body’s way of signaling that something deeper is affecting digestive health.

According to doctors, one of the most common causes of excessive gas is diet. Foods such as beans, onions, broccoli, cabbage, dairy products, carbonated drinks, and heavily processed foods may create large amounts of gas during digestion. Eating too quickly, swallowing air while talking during meals, chewing gum, or drinking through straws may also increase gas buildup in the intestines.

But experts say persistent excessive gas is not always caused by food alone. In some people, it may be linked to digestive conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), lactose intolerance, acid reflux, food sensitivities, or an imbalance of gut bacteria. When the digestive system struggles to properly break down food, fermentation inside the intestines may increase significantly, producing more gas than usual.

Doctors also warn that if excessive flatulence is accompanied by symptoms such as unexplained weight loss, blood in the stool, severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or chronic diarrhea, medical evaluation should not be delayed because these symptoms may point to more serious digestive disorders.

Health specialists recommend paying attention to eating habits and identifying foods that trigger symptoms most often. Eating more slowly, staying hydrated, exercising regularly, and reducing heavily processed foods may help improve digestion naturally. Some individuals may also benefit from probiotics, which help support healthier gut bacteria balance.

Experts emphasize that farting itself is not dangerous and should not be considered embarrassing or abnormal. In fact, it is a natural biological process. But when the frequency changes dramatically or becomes uncomfortable, the body may be trying to reveal important clues about digestive health that should not be ignored.
